I was brought to tears watching sally lashing out and getting scolded. I understand it was a diffrent time then, but it still breaks my heart. sally is totally going to start acting up after all of this she already posses a deviant streak! and i hate when shows replace the younger kids its so obvious.

I see Sally as a little girl questioning what the others seem to be missing. Her speech and her indignity about her grandfathers death was so full of truth that she thought the adults were missing. Her questions about the Monk setting himself on fire and about Medgar Evers violent death, shows that she sees and questions what is going on in the world.
I see Sally, after she goes through that thing called adolescence, as taking a stand and speaking out on social issues. |
