i thought that after her quick first aid work when the brit had his foot mowed; that the powers at SC would take her back out of appreciation.
perhaps they still will. DD needs a competent secretary. |

I don't think she could bring herself to go back and have to make up and constantly stick to a story about what happened to her dippy husband.
Too much pride (or just the right amount) |

I hope that Sal doesn't wind up like Joan on the M.I.A. list.

I miss Joan too! I can't help but think that her going back to SC would compromise her character (her storyline character and her character charcater!). I also think that Joan will be woven into the Mad Men saga through cameos, but I hope more story lines will show her more prominently.

I have a crazy fantasy that Peggy will leave SC and hook up with Duck. Duck and Peggy then bring on Joan as office manager and Sal. Like the "Island of Misfits" they join up and become the successful upstart on Madison Avenue! Just my fantasy.

When Joan smacked Greg in the back of the head with a vase, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. He is so annoying!!

JetSet, so did I!
"YOU don't know what it's like working and planning your whole life to get something, and then not getting it." Oh, yes she does! She planned on marrying a rich and fabulous doctor and being taken care of for the rest of her life. ;D |

Heh. Well I thought he deserved a smack on the head, but the vase thing kind of shocked me. I understand her annoyance, but a little violent. Then again, Greg certainly doesn't have a perfect record.

Her husband is a mega douche. Somehow even when he gets himself out of his self-imposed funk, he does it in the douchiest way possible - joining the army, without any discussion with his wife, who will have to move with him.
I sincerely hope this guy is one of the first to get fragged in Vietnam. |

Yeah on further reflection he definitely deserved that vase... he just needs to get out of Joan's life.

Maybe Greg becomes the insperation for Frank Burns of MASH. |

No, I can't envision Joan as an army wife. This could be my naivety regarding the era, but Joan is trying to set a nice table spread for a soup dinner (with their meager budget) and I can't envision Joan getting much more minimalistic than that! I also don't know if the scene with Roger calling a friend of his to get Joan a job was just a tease or foreshadowing something else. I hope the latter, unless there's more vase breaking in the future!

That vase to the head was a long time coming. Greg should have gotten that or worse when he raped Joan in Don's office. Sometimes I have to remind myself that attitudes, expectations, etc. were much different during this time period. Perhaps Greg will get killed while serving and that will bring Joan back to Roger.

Everyone with a Peggy avatar sounds exactly the same.

I hope she's not some kind of "argumental wildcard" they'll throw in case of emergency. It's obvious she moved to avoid Sterling more than anything else.

I don't think everyone with a Peggy avatar sounds exactly the same, White Bread. And why shouldn't women have sympathy for other women anyway? What's your problem with that?

Christina Hendricks has obviously lost a stone or two. I was a little shocked to see how thin she was on the season finale. Then I remembered Joan and Greg were hurting for money--maybe she's hungry!! Looking GOOD, Joan!!

I really like Joan's character - and hope to see her back with Roger, since they seem like a much better fit as a couple. Her husband definitely seems a bit childish to say the least, but it's sweet that he tries to fix this problem so Joan won't have to work anymore, as he puts it. And I recall her talking about having babies once Greg was done with residency, and I always wondered how she felt about losing out on that opportunity when Greg's job was threatened. I really hope we see more of her.
