Duck abandoned his dog! He should've at least abandoned it at a shelter or whatever you left dogs at in the 60's. That was so sad to watch, I just wanted to slap Duck afterwards!

Although I whole heartedly agree about the dog and, the way animals are treated and I get really upset when an animal dies or is mistreated in a film or programme and when in real life people get done for murdering a human but not an animal (which makes me mad and sick)remember that what makes Mad Men such a quality programme is that it does not hit us over the head with modern sensibilities.
Think about when Don saw Sal in the room with the hotel porter, he didn't say anything but gave a look. Then later in the series he lets Sal go. In todays world you wouldn't necessarily bat an eyelid if someone is gay or bi or whatever. The same goes for Animals, whislt there were people who cared a lot of people didn't and quite rightly in the context of the show this was right, and again with Sal no matter our point of view now. The same goes for smoking what was "normal" now is totally unacceptable today. So well done Mad Men for showing life how it was and not modernising it. Regards Betts. P.s has anyone seen a really modern second world war film? Does anyone smoke in those? If not it's another example of modern a take on the past. __________________ "That's life.
