I strongly dispute the emergence of the real life Don Draper as AskMen.com's most influential man of 2009...
It was for the wrong reasons that he took that slot - the "macho-man" figure that's arrogant, "alpha"... I don't think this is the ideal man, not in today's times. Things have changed, women say how they like the bad boys yet end up with the good ones... |

But who says the most influential man must be the ideal man? I think it's pretty strange people vote for a fictional character though, but that's not where you're talking about, i reckon.
I do think that a person like Don Draper who maybe is not an ideal husband, would have a far better change to be influential than a perfect husband. Just because he's work obsessed and the things nicer persons have to spend time on, don't cost him any time. |
