Hey everyone. Greetings from NYC. I just wanted to comment on the opening walk through the new offices of SCDP. How much it reminds me of the old office was a pleasure. Seeing Joan with her own office was another bonus. She should be in more scenes.Mkae that every scene. Peggy certainly seems to have come into her own even more than last year and she seems alot more comfortable in her position. Although Pete still seems to think hes above her. (Maybe he still wants to be)
Also, the difference in Don's home life and how things have changed for him were also quite evident (shining his own shoes was something he never had to do before the divorce). Being a divorced father myself I can relate to the change in life style. |

Indeed it was a pleasure to see the opening scene with the " I run this town" walk through the halls lol
I enjoyed seeing how laid back Peggy has become, God forbid Father Gill should see Margaret Olson puffing that cig and downing that drink. I guess she's still in that good place a la the marijuana toke season 3 lol Oh yes and seeing Don being independent was actually nice. The face slapping I need to figure out. I like how confident he is becoming at work. Personal life needs work as usual. |

The new office is definitely becoming a little more progressive. Notice the modern 1960's desk and lamps in Roger's office? It's a little more open concept, too, with most of the office doors remaining open, and people poking their heads through to the adjoining rooms.
Don would have been shining his own shoes for some time, though. Unless you're on the go and getting them done at a shine stand in the city, polishing your own shoes is one of those masculine things men do...like the ritual of shaving, for instance. You forget that Don was in the military, where keeping his boots well-polished would have been a routine chore. Gaga: The priest himself smokes and drinks. I doubt he'd care if one of his flock did the same. |

Oh yeah, did Father Gill indulge in private while guitar playing? I don't remember...you are probably right.
Still really good to see Pegs letting her hair down, I like it. You are right about men shining their shoes being one of those masculine thingsto take pride in...I remember my brother being obsessed with spotless shoes, even had an old tootbrush. |
