I thought it would be a good idea to bring in a thread that included interesting essays and articles. I recently read two articles on The Mark. One discusses the fashion and lifestyle of the '60s and whether the tv show can keep up with reality. The second is written by a former Ad man who looks at the life of Don Draper and how true it really is.

@jdi
"I never got to the point where I paid someone to slap me - I swear to God" - thats o.k we believe u - but there is something I am interested in - Homosexuality in the 60s - Because of its brief mention in the series that may indicate its covertness in the 1960s. Any opinions or facts? |

For an answer to that, check out Dennis Quaid in Far From Heaven.

@ 490 - Yes I saw that but it was a few years ago. Dennis Quaid was brilliant in it, but overall it was depressing as attitudes then in the 50s were far different from todays world. One of my favorites Julianne Moore starred in it as well and the general consensus then re homosexuality - it was definitely clandestine.
Thanks for that 490 |
