Is it just me, or didn't we all feel that at some level at least there has always been this strong connection between Don and Peggy. Both are talented, competitive, striving, and would rather their checkered pasts be forgotten. I wonder if the writers have always had this brewing hook-up in mind.

If they do end up in bed together, that'll be the end of the show. Just like on The X-Files with Mulder and Scully.

They wont end up together - Don is a predator - they are getting younger and younger and Betty is not his virgin any more - another man has been there now - part of the attraction was that Betty was pure and not soiled goods like his dead mother.

What are you talking about?
Don has hooked up with all kinds of experienced women. He's no virgin hunter. Also, he's probably of the opinion that it's not so great to have a whore as a mother, but to have a few in your Little Black Book? Well, that's just practical. |

If Don married again it would not be anyone in his Little Black Book and his mother image is a little tarnished!

First of all, if there is a connection between and man and a woman, it does not mean they will be sleeping together. There are plenty of professional respect relationships that don't lead to the horizontal boogie. Second, Don wants the image of the ideal wife. In Megan he has found someone with a bit of culture, a natural mothering instinct (and not just for his kids) and someone who will take care of him. Peggy would never want to be that woman, and Don would not ever see her that way....
And I still think somehow this is all a dream... E |

I feel it and I cant explain why and it goes against all reason and emotion - Don and Peggy will connect (Don does not know yet - it will happen) Peggy knows it - the expression on her face when the announcement was made of D & M's engagement. Utter disappointment.

"the expression on her face"
I characterise her reaction as increadelous, one of veiled scepticism, she was polite in aknowlagment and congradulations, but she knows Don about as well as anyone, and will believe it when she sees it. Just like us. M |

I can envison Don and Peggy years later. After Don has had a couple of more marriages and Peggy has too.
They do have a connection and I see them years later as both having matured a great deal. They have gone through the 60's and opened their minds and eyes. And one day they will look at each other and know that they were meant to be together, now. Not then, but now. They needed to grow to see each other. |

I dont know what will happen or how but they will be the catalyst for the series and it will happen at the end of the series.

I think the reason Peggy is not happy about the engagement is because she feels that she has worked hard to get ahead and over and over again the pretty young secretary just walks in and gets what she wants right away. Not so fair,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
