I'm new on here and this might have been already discussed. I think they are moving through the 60's pretty fast and I really like the time period they are in, especially styles and music. I just sort of hate thinking about the guys having long, tacky hairstyles and the ugly clothes of the late 60's as a big part of this show is the clothing style.

I thought they were going pretty fast too, Coop, but I think they have slowed down considerably. It has been 1965 for several episodes. It's amazing to think of everything that will happen in just five years. I think the writers realize how successful the show is and that they'd better slow it down.

They generally cover one year each season. They've skipped years 1961, and most of 1964.

I thought it would be a good opportunity to continue all the way through to the 80's or 90's. Of course they wouldn't be able to move as fast because the kids won't age quick enough but it would be interesting. Just something slightly related that has crossed my mind a few times.

I think that Wiener said in some interview that the show will only gor for six seasons. I hope he changes his mind about that. It is simply the best show on TV.

Yeah, how would we react to Don's moustache, longer hair, side burns, and wide ties?
I think the show will end somtime in '68. |

Yes, you are right about the hat! I remember my Dad was of that era and he NEVER wore a hat.
Even so, even my Dad, as times and fashions changed, grew a moustache and had the wide ties. No sideburns, though. |

He based this entirely on the men he served with in the Air Force who wore those flat, canoe-shaped hats. Personally, I like fedoras and wish they'd come back into general use. And no, I'm not bald. |
