Watched "Hall of the Mountain King" again today and was surprised by a couple of things I didn't notice the first time through. The first scene was of Ken, Sal and Peggy meeting in her "old" office (with the copier). When Sal asked "Who brought refreshments?", Peggy whipped out a a bottle. It struck me as odd that 1) she had one handy and 2) produced it so rapidly. Drinking is not something I associate with her character.
Then when Pete comes to visit her in her new office, he comments on the bar set-up. "It was Freddy's," Peggy says, "he didn't take it with him." Could this be some foreshadowing of a coming problem with alcohol for Peggy in Season 3? |

Peggy doesn't strike me as a big drinker, however with more pressure and responsibilty that certainly may change.
The way I took the "bottle in her old office scene" was that she had called the meeting, and there seems to be an unwritten law at SC that the "host" provides the liquor. I think she was just trying to be one of the guys, and prepared in advance. Though not so well, as I recall, she poured into paper cups. I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall Salvatore grimacing at that. |
