I think Duck's story is one of the more interesting sleeper stories on the show. Upon rewatching, I just noticed how much Don and Roger take every opportunity to pick on Duck in sly ways. This, I think, is why he slipped back into drinking (in the episode where he put his dog out to sneak a drink); he never quite fit in, despite being very good at his job... he could never outshine Don or get the respect he felt he deserved.
The 2nd season ended with him in a funny place... what will become of Duck? I have a feeling he will be pivotal, but his character is a something of a mystery... bytheway; thanks a mil to whoever launched this forum. this show needs a place where fans who pay attention can talk. |

I'm not so sure Duck is "very good at his job". Remember when Don said to him (something like) "you're pitching the client's ideas to me instead of pitching my ideas to the client"? Duck doesn't have much, if any, respect for Creative. I'm excited to see the fallout from his blowout at the end of last season.

Like everything on Mad Men, Duck's fate will remain a mystery until he's either written off with a passing remark or he's needed for some uncomfortable scene.

Any predictions for Duckfart this season? Will he go postal, or have we seen the last of him?

the talent limited alcoholic needs to do everyone a favor and jump off the ledge.

...Duckfart (lol)
I predict that Duck is a dead duck. Probably from an alcohol-related disease or accident. Is there anything else left for him to do besides serve as a cautionary tale? |

My vote is for accidental, and predictably funny, suicide. It's the only way they can get him another story line, and still keep him on the down low.
