Fighting can be resolved in an instant.... just sign on the dotted line and everybody is happy again. I remain optimistic.

Maybe AMC can play reruns with a theme for each week. I started considering possible themes:
1) one week dedicated to Betty and her love for the kids 2) tie-one-on-week -- most drunken filled episodes. 3) California dreamin' week -- Don and Anna Draper episodes 4) other? |

Thanks MM -- I wouldn't mind a few reruns of Ms. Blankenship to lighten things up...

Ms Blankenship rerun
would have to be one of the briefest reruns. Here one minute and dead the next! As an afterthought was her title Ms, Miss or Mrs |

She is listed as MISS on the AMC website. Perhaps a future episode could include a flashback segment to indulge us on details of her previous relationship with Roger (which apparently bothered Burt) -- sounded interesting.

I am really excited about that one..... MISS Blankenship once a fair maiden and with ROGER. Nope, can't picture that. Maybe someone would like to ad lib. That could be quite hilarious given the two characters.

Yeah, that probably would've been around the time Roger joined the firm, and the "queen of perversions" was a cougar. Around 1930? Whew, hard to imagine! That might not go over too well, even on basic cable. I wonder how much of that Roger put in his memoirs...
SEASON 4 OUT ON DVD TOMORROW

Geez, I hope someone with influence in the writing department of Mad Men is reading our posts on this... they could put us out of our miseries and enlighten us on EXACTLY WHAT BERT KNOWS about Miss B and Roget!
Now this is really going to torment me. |

We are the creme de la creme for all Mad Men commentaries, did you not know that M?
The Lounge is the only point of reference where intellect and creativity meet to dissect and discuss (often humorously)each episode of Mad Men. My opinion is that the huge wheels of PR for the series have been churning silently away in the background keeping the interest alive (free of charge,of course) for all the Mad Men executives and if they had any sense at all they would have consulted us here at Mad Men Lounge and all problems would have been resolved and Series 5 would have been near completion by now. So what do you say about that Matt Weiner! |

So I'm wondering when they do come back -- do they skip ahead a year in time or just pick up again in 1966 or wherever they left off? Sally's gonna be a full blown pot-smoking, war-protesting, tie-dye wearing teenager if not young adult by the time they get around to filming again... how old is Burt Cooper anyway, his days are not exactly unlimited.

I hope they don't skip too far ahead. We need to see their "awakening", we need to see the small steps and the "aha" moments. Those are so important in view of the "sleep walking" of the 50's. I know we see some in the early 60's but I think we need to see '65, 66, & 67. Maybe they'll do it in flashback style.

They can't skip too far ahead or the child actors now playing the roles won't be able to make the leap. I think viewers are invested in "this" Sally. They want to see her and not another actor.
And really, people started watching the show and still watch the show at least partially because of the era. The show has a wonderful opportunity to depict how all the changes started happening. Not to mention I want to see what happens with DD and Megan. |

Agreed, especially more so considering there's been more than a few changes to the casting of Bobby. We've seen Sally grow up over time, evolving from a child into someone who's starting to grow into the young woman she will become - It's definately fair to say that emotionally the audience are invested in her, mainly because the kid that plays her does it so well. Mind you, with children I don't think their ageing off screen is so bad because we all know children grow up quick anyway - It's easy to skip ahead a year in the show and her ageing not seem so strange. I could imagine the show skipping ahead atleast a year myself, going by previous series you'd imagine this will be the case. In a way though I hope that's not really the case; I don't really want to begin the new series and find out through a single line of dialogue that SCDP has folded/survived without much explanation as to why or how. |

What!!!! tell me more.... who is the father.... I mean the real life father.
Considering this blessed event it may be that JJ/Betty was one of the actors sacrificed from the series for economical reasons as has been stated during the negotiations. |
