dondraperistheman: Peggy...

dondraperistheman: Yeah i will definitely check that out. I just cannot stand some of these characters. I guess that is what they are going for? Pete is a whiny baby. Sterling is being foolish. And that new guy who made the deal to sell in season two. Who does he think he is? And bringing Betsy's father into the plot... He is upsetting. Sounds like i don't even like the show lol but i love it.

On a positive note! I am glad to see the art director is finally experiencing some of what he has always wanted. I am not gay, but it is sad he has to live a lie when he really wants a man. The fire alarm just had to go off lol. I am really looking forward to seeing if Don and him ever talk about what Don saw. Betsy seems to be happier this season but scandalous as well. Now they both cheat! Oh boy lol. I have a feeling her and the man from the party who liked her are going to get together. I hope Don catches her! Anyway, i'll check out the site! I am thinking of diving into the Sopranos after i am done with mad men. Supposed to be really good...

SteveAndrewL: Donald Draper's Nape

SteveAndrewL: Does anybody know the name of it? The nape is the back of the neck; it's kind of in a V shape/pointy. I tried both of those terms in Google, with no avail.

I've seen it a bunch, so I imagine it has some sort of "official" name.?

SteveAndrewL: There Should Be A Fashion Portion.?

SteveAndrewL: I believe there should be an addition to the board. Because a substanstial amount of Mad Men is about the fashion and styles of that time period and because many people like such aspect of the show, the new discussion thing (couldn't find an adequate name) should be Mad Men Fashion.

Of course, the name is irrelevant. Let me know fellow M$M'ers.

rnch: don's on SNL 1/30/10

mneeley490: I guess it just goes to show that even the best actors can't overcome HORRENDOUS writing. That had to be one of the worst SNL episodes ever. Lorne Michaels and his writing staff should be ashamed to be cashing their paychecks these days.

FartingGraceKelly: Duck abandoned his dog! He should've at least abandoned it at a shelter or whatever you left dogs at in the 60's. That was so sad to watch, I just wanted to slap Duck afterwards!

randedge: Revolutionary Road and Mad Men?

randedge:
The big difference between the two movies is generational. The Wheelers are firmly entrenched in the "greatest generation": Frank is a World War II vet who takes a nice office job and a house in some anonymous Levittown. "American Beauty's" Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey) was a baby boomer/Gen Xer, a mirror for Mr. Mendes, generationally speaking.

It wasn't too surprising for audiences that a boomer like Lester would succumb to personal gratification at the expense of his family; one doesn't expect much more from that self-absorbed generation. However, to see a guy who lived through the Great Depression and World War II behave the same way? Now that's shocking.
From: http://www3.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/jan/02/revoltin-development-sam-mendes-goes-back-to-the-b/

That was the second part about R.R. that was a bit afraid to comment on, but really, one does not expect this from the "greatest generation". I mean, the womanizing, the boozing, every generation has those - surely Roger Sterling is about the same age as the Wheelers.
